Some weddings feel like they’ve stepped straight out of a storybook, and Amanda and Troy’s Castle Hotel wedding in Tarrytown, New York was exactly that. Set against the timeless beauty of a real-life castle, every moment of their day carried a sense of romance, elegance, and the magic of two people who are simply meant to be together.

When we first spoke with Amanda and Troy on the phone, they told us that one of the reasons they chose us was because they felt we would make them feel comfortable in front of the camera. While that always means so much to hear, the truth is something even a lot sweeter than that. Photographing them was effortless because of the love and connection they share. Their chemistry, laughter, and natural ease with one another made it nearly impossible to take a bad photograph. Every glance felt genuine, every smile unforced, and every moment was completely their own.

The castle setting only added to the fairytale atmosphere. From the romantic architecture to the dreamy light surrounding the grounds, the entire day felt like the beginning of a true happily ever after. Thoughtfully planned alongside the incredible team at Whitney Events in New York City (shout out to our girls!) each detail flowed seamlessly, allowing Amanda and Troy to stay fully present with the people and moments that mattered most.

A Colorful Rosecliff Wedding in Newport, Rhode Island

As a Newport wedding photographer, we always get excited when we’re photographing a wedding at Rosecliff. I mean how could we not?!

At M.Studios, we photograph weddings throughout Newport and the surrounding coastal areas, but Rosecliff is always one of the most iconic venues to work in. The mansion’s grand architecture, sweeping ballroom, and ocean views obviously create a beautiful backdrop for wedding photography. Now throw in an amazing couple like Arianna and Devon and you have yourself a winner!

Arianna told us that when she was choosing their wedding colors she was imagining how everything would look in our photographs. That was such a compliment because as photographers that’s the kind of attention to detail that makes us even more excited to document a wedding day. Needless to say she absolutely nailed it.

The bold, vibrant florals designed by Plant Girl Florals popped beautifully against the elegant white architecture of Rosecliff. Also with the expert help of planning by Em Devaud, the entire day flowed seamlessly while still feeling incredibly personal to Arianna and Devon.

How Arianna and Devon Met

Arianna and Devon’s story is just as fun as their wedding day. The two met when Arianna tagged along with a friend to a jiu-jitsu class, spotted Devon, and immediately called dibs. Sometimes trusting your instincts works out pretty well.

Arianna proudly describes herself as a princess, while Devon is the calm, steady partner who clearly adores her. This made our job easy because their dynamic was playful, supportive, and completely natural.

Their dogs, Waffles and Maple, were also part of the celebration and kind of stole the spotlight whenever they appeared! Their cat Chicken stayed home for the day (we understand—Rosecliff weddings might not be every feline’s vibe), but we’re always ready if couples want to include the full pet crew in their wedding photos. We are still waiting for someone to bring their cat because we are fully cat ladies and proud of it!

Spending the day photographing Arianna and Devon’s wedding at Rosecliff Mansion in Newport, RI was an absolute joy. From the emotional ceremony to the heartfelt and hilarious toasts later in the evening, it was clear that these two are deeply loved by their family and friends.
