We knew that Abby and Andy’s wedding at the Red Lion Inn was going to be wonderful after the awesome engagement session we had together. We were very excited to meet them in the warm weather considering it was the middle of winter when we last met in Boston. The beaches of Cohasset, Ma were a far cry from the frozen frog pond in The Commons! As always, The Red Lion Inn was stunning and the staff was kind and attentive. Abby was breathtaking in a gorgeous gown by House of Wu and Andy was dressed to the nines in Tommy Hilfiger. These two fit together like a puzzle, both are incredibly smart, stylish and driven and it came through in the styling of the wedding. The rustic beauty of the inn complimented the pretty florals by Barry’s Flowers. Each table number was accompanied by a picture of the bride and groom at that particular age. This greatly impressed us because not only did their parents keep their photos organized throughout the years but the pictures were beautiful! We had such a gorgeous day that were were able to take advantage of every spot on the grounds of the inn, take formal photos on the beach, and get Abby and Andy to their cocktail hour in time to enjoy some sweet acoustic music and passed hors d’oeuvres. The photo booth was hoping all night and the couple even had their own hashtag for their guests Instagram photos. Here’s to #abbyandandy13!

Once upon a time a wedding comes along that really knocks our socks off. Meet Jay and Alayna! Their story starts with a wedding proposal from Jay who had a pelican trained to carry the engagement ring. Yes, a real live pelican! Alayna is a very talented illustrator and she drew the scene as their Save the Date card. A gorgeous storybook themed wedding at The Glen Manor followed.  Del’s frozen lemonade (original and spiked!) refreshed the guests after the ceremony. Once inside, friends and family were treated to a feast for the eyes. Each table had a different terrarium as the centerpiece, picture books and candles adorned the mantles, and an incredible pelican/storybook cake by Sin Bakery was the focus of everyone’s attention next to the dance floor. Jay had purchased some gorgeous carved animal masks that he thought would go nicely with the wedding theme, so naturally we had to do some fun photos with them in the woods. We went for a nice long walk on the grounds until we stumbled upon a pretty stream. Alayna kicked off her vintage shoes and into the stream they went. It was amazing. Alayna wore her mother’s dress and Jay’s mother’s veil. We felt as if we had stepped back in time. And in a way we did, back in the 90’s Marisa and Jay were buds in college where they shared an affection for indie rock and Mortal Kombat, so being asked to document this beautiful day was extra special. Throughout the evening DJs played all of the couple’s favorite tunes, we were even treated to two piano solos by their good friend Paul. We wish Jay and Alayna much happiness as they live happily ever after…

Summertime in Bristol, RI invokes images of 4th of July, sailing, outdoor dining and of course, weddings! Cara and Mark fell in love with Blithewold Mansion for their venue.  They had the most perfect summer day to have a vintage inspired wedding with their big italian families and friends! We love when our clients honor their family members in their styling, sometimes a necklace or earrings.  Cara chose her mother’s veil and it was stunning!  One of the bridesmaids even commented that she looked “so italian”! Guests enjoyed cocktails on the lawn overlooking the ocean, croquet was played, and the amazing gardens were explored. After the first dance (Hotel Yorba by the White Stripes played skillfully by The Goodtime Stringband!) we took Cara and Mark to the gardens where we ventured out and beyond, all the way to the bamboo forest. So much love filled the tent that night, you could hear family speaking Italian, Mark’s father had the dance floor going all night long, and the food! Blackstone Catering did an amazing spread topped off by a stunning cake courtesy of Konditor Meister. We loved being a part of this beautiful day. Best. Job. Ever.
