This was very nearly the Manhattan engagement session that almost wasn’t! Abbie and Bryan are super busy people. No surprise because only very important people hire us! Unfortunately it sometimes makes scheduling difficult. Abbie started a new job that required travel, there was bad weather, we got booked with portraits as the fall arrived. Let’s not forget the weddings that were already scheduled every weekend! We must have rescheduled this session about five times! But then the deadline for Abbie and Bryan to print their save the dates was looming and we made it happen.

There was some rain in the forecast for the day we met this fabulous couple at the Seaport in Manhattan, but we decided to just go with it! We had no choice! It was now or never. It only sprinkled a little, and we think it was to our advantage. Sometimes, they wet everything down on a movie set before filming because the water brings out the colors and adds a little reflection. We think we got the same effect from the rain! Look at those wet cobblestones! And the blue of Abbie’s dress just popped!

We’re so glad we were able to at last make this engagement session in Manhattan happen with Abbie and Bryan. As Abbie’s cookie from Funny Face Bakery says in the last image … fucking finally!

After freezing our butts off at Allie and Blake’s engagement session, we all were thrilled that they had an unseasonably warm, 70-degree November wedding day in Cape Cod!

This Cape Cod wedding was so much fun, and not only because the warmth between the bride and groom rivaled the incredible warmth of the day. We also shot Blake’s sister’s wedding and his cousin’s wedding, and we were so excited to see so many familiar faces!

The expert planning by Christina and Jenn of Whitney Events was evident in all the wedding details, from the bubbles that followed the bride and groom from the ceremony site to the delicate greenery that covered the reception tables to the blue glassware that echoed the blue in the bride’s bouquet, the bridesmaid dresses and the water beyond the Woods Hole Golf Club reception site. As photographers, we adore all those little touches that make a wedding truly stand out!

The whole wedding party prepped for the ceremony at the nearby Coonamessett Inn, and we loved photographing Allie as she got ready to put on her next-level gorgeous wedding dress. Her veil with all the pearls sewn into it was just perfect. And can we talk about her reception dress? She couldn’t have worn anything better on the dance floor, which was out of control.

Blake and Allie, please call us when another cousin or sibling gets married! Until then, enjoy your wedded life together. We were so happy to see it start.

A knot soaked in water becomes nearly impossible to unravel, which is why they say a couple who ties the knot in a downpour will be together forever. If that’s the case, nothing will tear Kassie and Terry apart! Just before their ceremony began, the skies opened into a southern-style storm that disappeared nearly as soon as it arrived. It was like Mother Nature approved of their union. And that’s so fitting because Kassie has a long-held belief in being one with the universe.

Despite a last-minute ceremony location change — from outdoors to inside the barn at Blue Ridge Farm — the bride’s and groom’s smiles never faltered. This wedding burst with life and was filled with little nods to nature. Greenery from Southern Blooms cascaded from the ceiling and poured from vases, a custom-made moon arch was the perfect photo backdrop and a huge tree installation illustrated Kassie’s incredible speech that described the people in her life as her roots. But nothing was more vibrant than the bride, radiant in her chartreuse gown.

Kassie and Terry, we know you waited a long time to find each other, and we’re so glad we were witness to your love story!
