A Beavertail Engagement Session with Emily, Anthony & Penny

Beavertail State Park in Jamestown is one of those places that makes a pretty perfect backdrop for engagement photos. With its rocky coastline, ocean views, and beautiful New England scenery, it’s a favorite kind of spot for couples who want their photos to feel natural, relaxed, and a little coastal.

For Emily and Anthony’s Beavertail engagement session, we had one very important guest joining us… their corgi, Penny! And honestly, Penny pretty much stole the show (sorry, Emily and Anthony!). Between her adorable face and her big personality, she made the session that much more fun. We’re always happy when couples bring their dogs along for photos because they’re part of the family, too!

No Dogs at the wedding… Sorry, Penny!

Penny didn’t make the guest list for Emily and Anthony’s wedding. As much as everyone loves her, a wedding reception with food on the floor would have been far too tempting for this girl. We can only imagine the trouble she would have gotten into!

Engagement sessions are a great way to get to know your photographer

We loved getting to spend this time with Emily and Anthony. Obviously we were able to capture some photos of the two of them in a beautiful Rhode Island location, with their favorite four-legged sidekick right there beside them. But the other bonus of an engagement session is that we get to know our couples before the big day!

If you’re looking for an engagement photographer in Rhode Island, Beavertail State Park is a beautiful option for coastal engagement photos, and we’d love to help you plan a session that feels like you.

Beavertail Engagement Session Tips

  • Weather – Watch the wind report! People are always thinking about rain, but the wind can be just as big of a problem.
  • Explore – There are a lot of great spots that aren’t in the main area by the lighthouse. Thankfully we know a few but if you are using some other than us ask they if they are familiar with the park
  • Shoes – You will be climbing on some uneven surfaces. Bring a comfy pair of shoes to walk in and change into your fancy ones when we start snapping!
