What could be more perfect than a seaside wedding in beautiful Bristol, RI? Not much really. Shelly and John would definitely agree to that. Bristol Harbor Inn was the perfect setting for this ocean themed wedding. Shelly picked beautiful blues and yellows as the colors for this event to set the tone. Shelly’s mother is Japanese. Family traveled from halfway across the globe to see these guys get married. It is a Japanese tradition for a bride to be to fold 1,000 paper cranes for the wedding. It is believed that if you have a special wish, fold one thousand origami cranes. By the time you finish this task, your wish will be granted. This is called Sembazuru, or the folding of one thousand cranes. A future bride folds the cranes for a long and prosperous marriage. The crane is a symbol of luck and longevity since they are said to live for a thousand years. Cranes actually mate for life so it is the perfect symbol for a marriage! So a big congrats to Shelly and John! We wish you a thousand years of love and happiness!
