Summertime in Bristol, RI invokes images of 4th of July, sailing, outdoor dining and of course, weddings! Cara and Mark fell in love with Blithewold Mansion for their venue.  They had the most perfect summer day to have a vintage inspired wedding with their big italian families and friends! We love when our clients honor their family members in their styling, sometimes a necklace or earrings.  Cara chose her mother’s veil and it was stunning!  One of the bridesmaids even commented that she looked “so italian”! Guests enjoyed cocktails on the lawn overlooking the ocean, croquet was played, and the amazing gardens were explored. After the first dance (Hotel Yorba by the White Stripes played skillfully by The Goodtime Stringband!) we took Cara and Mark to the gardens where we ventured out and beyond, all the way to the bamboo forest. So much love filled the tent that night, you could hear family speaking Italian, Mark’s father had the dance floor going all night long, and the food! Blackstone Catering did an amazing spread topped off by a stunning cake courtesy of Konditor Meister. We loved being a part of this beautiful day. Best. Job. Ever.

From the moment we met Meg and John it was love at first sight, which is exactly what happened when they first laid eyes on each other at a band retreat 13 years ago when they were 13 years old! They weren’t even allowed to date yet! As time went on they became high school sweethearts, graduated college, survived long distance, started careers and landed here at Linden Place, in beautiful Bristol, RI, to FINALLY get married. This is one gorgeous couple, like seriously attractive. The best part is that they have personalities to match. Not only did Meg make her bridesmaids’ necklaces, but she also made her own necklace, her bracelet and all of the bouquets. DIY items were scattered throughout the carriage house including an adorable seating chart, embossed cards for guests to write well wishes on, and a photo timeline of the couple from those early teenage years right up till now. These two are a dream, a real life dream come true, and we wish them so much love and happiness!

What could be more perfect than a seaside wedding in beautiful Bristol, RI?  Not much really.  Shelly and John would definitely agree to that.  Bristol Harbor Inn was the perfect setting for this ocean themed wedding.  Shelly picked beautiful blues and yellows as the colors for this event to set the tone.  Shelly’s mother is Japanese.  Family traveled from halfway across the globe to see these guys get married.  It is a Japanese tradition for a bride to be to fold 1,000 paper cranes for the wedding.  It is believed that if you have a special wish, fold one thousand origami cranes. By the time you finish this task, your wish will be granted. This is called Sembazuru, or the folding of one thousand cranes.  A future bride folds the cranes for a long and prosperous marriage.  The crane is a symbol of luck and longevity since they are said to live for a thousand years.  Cranes actually mate for life so it is the perfect symbol for a marriage!  So a big congrats to Shelly and John!  We wish you a thousand years of love and happiness!
