Rebecca and Jonathan had a perfect wedding. Every last detail was hand chosen and breathtaking. You really can’t go wrong with Linden Place as your venue which is why it’s on our short list of favorite places to shoot in our little state. Our couple chose navy blue, turquoise, and purple as their color theme and what a choice that was! Rebecca’s Kate Spade kitten heels were so beautiful, it’s a good thing they didn’t fit Marisa or she would have run off in them! With a gorgeous updo and her embellished Mori Lee gown Rebecca was the perfect bride. And HAPPY! These two were just so happy to be married! After getting ready in the bridal suite Rebecca met Jonathan for their first look outside by the gazebo. They exchanged heartfelt letters to each other and then we took the formal portraits on the magnificent grounds. Around every corner is another garden, statue, or piece of architecture which is prettier than the next. After the signing of the Ketubah in the Atrium Rebecca pulled her blusher down and walked the long aisle to Jonathan for their ceremony under a chuppah. Cheers erupted when Jonathan broke the glass and everyone was ready to move over to the East Rose Garden for the cocktail hour. Signature drinks in mason jars were awaiting the guests as the folks at Glorious Affairs passed heavy hors d’oeuvres. The Carriage House Ballroom has never looked more beautiful than it did on this day! Embroidered linens alternating in turquoise and white, John Orton’s lush florals, candles, and lanterns created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere. After the delicious sit down dinner the romance quickly turned into party as soon as Men in Black began to perform. The dancing was nonstop and included a Hora of epic proportions! JB Horn Films was by our side all day capturing all the magic that was happening. It truly was a perfect day!

We love to mix business with pleasure, So when Elizabeth and Alex asked us to make the trip to Washington, DC to photograph their wedding we had no problem saying YES! Elizabeth had been a bridesmaid in one our most favorite weddings ever so it was a huge compliment when she asked us to shoot hers. We got to know this theatrical couple during their engagement session at the Crescent Park Carousel here in RI. They are both silly, super smart, and madly in love, such a perfect combination! After a day of sightseeing and settling in we arrived at the very chic & eclectic Hotel Monaco.  Housed in a former post office, this magnificent hotel was the perfect setting for this vintage styled celebration. Elizabeth wore a breathtaking Jenny Peckham gown which was seemingly made for dancing, the perfect dress for a dancer! Her hair was swept back and adorned with a delicate fascinator. Alex wore a navy blue custom designed suit and when they saw each other for the first time on the grand staircase it was magic. After the first look we met the wedding party in the colorful lobby for some portraits and then walked across the street to the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery for family photos. We then drove to Meridian Hill Park for more photos with the wedding party. DC is beautiful! We took a walk with our couple to their apartment and got some pretty shots up on their roof that overlooked the city skyline. Back at the the hotel guests were invited into the Paris Ballroom for a unique ceremony in which they encircled the bride and groom creating a very loving atmosphere. Alex and Elizabeth recited their own vows which had guests laughing and crying. As guests were enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres the room was transformed for dinner and dancing. Giant ferns, flowers, candles and vintage stamps made it feel as if you had been transported to another era. After a fantastic entrance the newlyweds began their perfectly choreographed first dance, until the music stopped! But that was all part of the plan, they tricked everyone and started a wild dance party with the wedding party and all of the guests! This is how the night went, nonstop fun. Alex even surprised everyone with a choreographed dance with his mom to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song! Yes, that happened. Let’s not forget when the bride and groom’s mothers serenaded them with a song, changing the lyrics to fit the occasion, it was a moment not to be forgotten! To say we had a nice time in DC is an understatement, we had an AMAZING time with amazing people who will go on to have an amazing life together.

While we love shooting in little Rhody, when we get a chance to travel and explore a new venue we get giddy. And when that venue happens to be on Martha Stewart’s list of 11 best rustic wedding venues well then we are down right blown away! Kelly was a bridesmaid in Abby and Andy’s wedding so when she reached out to us we were very flattered. Abby, in turn, was a bridesmaid for Kelly and she was mere weeks away from welcoming her first baby into the world, it was a very sweet reunion. We arrived up in the White Mountains to an unseasonably warm and sunny day. Kelly was relaxed and so very happy. As we started poking around the venue it was hard to miss all of Kelly and Brian’s details. They had decorated the main house as if it were their own. Personal photographs and momentos from their relationship thus far dotted each wall, desk, and table. Declarations of love could be read around every corner. But nothing stood out as much as our beautiful bride! Her gorgeous up-do highlighted the beautiful neckline on her sparkly gown. This dress was made for a garden ceremony. Our couple saw each other for the first time in The Barn at Hardy Farm. Bryan’s smile could not have been bigger when he saw Kelly for the first time. We brought in the wedding party for some gorgeous formal portraits then drove down the street for some more shots with the mountains as our backdrop. The Whites never disappoint!  Back at Hardy Farm, Bryan and Kelly exchanged their vows during the ceremony, which was lovingly officiated by the groom’s Aunt and Uncle. The sunlight danced upon Kelly as the two became one surrounded by wildflowers and butterflies. Cocktail hour immediately followed on the patio where guests were gifted a mason jar mug with their name on it. This would serve as their drinking vessel for the night where they could get anything from the signature cocktails, to lemonade, iced tea, and water. Such a clever idea! The dinner tent was styled with farm tables, lace runners, peonies in vintage vases & vintage plates, each with a different design. It was perfection. The venue, the love, the family & friends all made this day unforgettable. Guests were invited into the barn for dancing and dessert after dinner and the party got going and went on into the night. We loved every minute of this day and it’s fair to say that Martha would approve!
