We knew when we met Sarah and Bryan that their wedding was going to be amazing. First off they were referred by a wonderful couple who had the good sense to hire Melissa to do their wedding years ago (Hi, Elayna and Jordan!!).  Second they brought a vintage bike and the hugest balloon ever to their engagement session! They are two super fun and quirky people, kind of like us! But nothing could have prepared us for the unbelievable styling of their October wedding at The Red Lion Inn in Cohasset, MA. First of all, Marisa wore a black and white chevron shirt which was a heavily used pattern throughout the decor. She matched the wedding! As the girls were getting ready we were given the invitation, save-the-date cards, jewelry, shoes & headpiece. Every single item was individual and thoughtfully chosen or designed. The bridesmaids each wore their own choice of coral dress & turquoise jewelry. Sarah has an amazing eye. She has never known a Pinterest Fail, trust us. Even the first look was totally original. Remember the giant balloon from the engagement shoot? Now there were so many! Sarah and Brian met along a covered bride (take that, rain!) holding a huge bunch of balloons in front of their faces. At the count of three they let the balloons go to reveal themselves! Totally Sarah’s idea, totally awesome. Right after the reveal they enjoyed a couple of pints together. After some formal photos it was time to get married! The ceremony was personal and heartwarming and funny and very them. The staff at the Red Lion Inn seamlessly flipped the room while the cocktail hour commenced on the mezzanine. Once the reception began guests were treated to a feast for the eyes! The tables were accented with crisscrossed black and white fabric runners, glittery table numbers, and little hand painted plastic animals that we probably took to many pictures of! Their wedding also had a theme of “Best Day Ever” which was proudly displayed in big wooden letters on the balcony. Black and white silent movies were projected on an exposed rock wall over by the bar where guests could find mason jars full of embellished paper straws. Everywhere we looked we saw something special made by Sarah! Even the favors were homemade. Months earlier they started the process of making limoncello. They bottled it up and made little tags and voila! Favors you can drink! From the adorable cake with a fabric bunting to the handcrafted paper pinwheels, this wedding was undeniably DIY all the way. We would like to wish Sarah and Bryan the Best Life Ever!!!

We know Halle and Ed pretty well. I mean not every couple gets TWO engagement shoots! The second session happened after they lost a total of 50 pounds; what better way to document a significant weight loss than with a photo shoot! So, by the time their gorgeous Linden Place wedding took place we felt like old friends. You simply cannot go wrong with a venue like Linden Place. Located in Bristol, Rhode Island’s historic waterfront district, this mansion has been preserved and still looks as it did in the late 1800’s. Four presidents have been entertained there! It is such a treat to visit. It was in one of these mansion bedrooms that Halle was gifted a gorgeous diamond necklace and matching earrings by her groom-to-be, delivered by a groomsmen in a handmade box crafted by Ed himself. This day was full of surprises! One of our favorite features of Linden Place is the detached ballroom. Each couple transforms this room to their own style. From shabby chic to rustic elegance, this room is always a winner. Halle inspired us with her mantle styled with lots and lots of DIY mercury glass. We have now become quite the mercury glass crafters. No glass vessel is safe around us! Complimenting the mercury glass was a huge monogram M (we discussed this getting “lost”) which had a subtle glow from behind and was made by an engineer friend of theirs. For a few moments the spotlight was taken off the gorgeous Halle with a personalized rap by her sister in lieu of a speech, she was amazing! But Halle quickly stole back everyone’s attention when Michael Jackson’s Beat It came on she reenacted his choreography move for move. As children of the 80’s who watched that video a million times on MTV, back when MTV still played videos, when we say “move for move” we mean it. She was PERFECT. And who could forget our wounded DJ?! One minute Sheldon was there, then he was gone and the paramedics were attending to him! Turns out he had injured himself changing a tire in the morning but refused to miss the wedding. As a football player he is trained to keep playing through adversity, rumor has it that after he received some stitches he told the paramedic “I’m ready to play coach, put me back in.” This went over well with Ed, a football player himself. The whole room exploded with applause and cheers when Sheldon started spinning again. Oh and did we mention that Ed’s former teammate officiated the ceremony dressed as Reverend Run from Run DMC? Yes, that happened too. It was a perfect day and night to Eat, Drink and Be Married!!

Lauren and Maty. These two names sound so good together. This couple embodies why what we do is so much more than a job. Our first meeting together lasted over and hour and a half and that’s where our love story begins. Our engagement session was awesome. It was then that we noticed that Lauren has a striking resemblance to Jennifer Garner and also where we met their sweet dog, Soco. The wedding day was a whirlwind of laughter, partying, and celebration. Regatta Place hosted beautiful summer evening ceremony followed by a tented reception featuring classic hits performed by Nasty Habits. This was also where we saw perhaps the most memorable wedding cake of the year, a donut cake by Allie’s Donuts in the shape of Lauren and Maty & Soco! Surrounded by six dozen of Allie’s famous donuts, this was the perfect dessert table for a Rhode Island based wedding. By this point we were completed committed to Lauren and Maty. Just when we thought we were totally smitten our love deepened. We learned during the best man’s toast that Maty was a bone marrow donor, not for someone he knows, because he is a caring and selfless person. The party flowed onto the docks throughout the night with the lights of Newport twinkling on the ocean. The joy these two share is infectious and we wish them all of the happiness in the world. XOXO
