As photographers, we always have an eye on the weather. In a way we are amateur meteorologists. So when it started raining on our way to Sarah and Jim’s engagement shoot we were shocked and disappointed with our lack of weather forecasting skills. We met them at the beach in the rain and broke the news that we’d have to reschedule. Our cameras dislike the rain even more than we do! One hitch, Sarah and Jim were driving home to New York in the morning. They managed to switch things around, bring their dog, and try again the next evening. Everything went perfect the second time around. We managed to fit in a formal shoot at Salvé Regina in Newport, a casual beach shoot, a “fisherman American Gothic” reenactment, and an EndlessSummer II movie poster redo. Oh and Sarah lost the one key to their car on the beach which Melissa found just before it got too dark! Multitasking at its very best! As surfers would say, it was a bitchin’ session.

We met Jenica and Angus on a pretty summer morning on the East Side of Providence. Even though Angus hadn’t had enough coffee we still won him over with our charming wit! Jenica wore a cute “engagement session blue” dress while Angus wore what he wears everyday, according to him. Very practical, which is exactly what you’d expect from a scientist! We walked and talked and met a little cat who joined our shoot for a while. We ended in Prospect Park where the ground was littered with yellow flower petals from the surrounding trees. It was a lovely morning in Providence.

Just one week before the wedding we met Meaghan and Brendan in Charlestown, MA for their dreamy engagement shoot. Charlestown has become a favorite location for M.Studios as we have been there twice for engagement sessions within the last few months. We started both sessions at the Bunker Hill Monument but from there each session has become as individual as the couples we photograph. Meaghan and Brendan were mere days away from their wedding and their excitement and love were palpable. Meaghan has the sweetest smile and Brendan is clearly smitten by her. After a quick outfit change we walked down to the Navy Yard and found ourselves wrapped in the most magical blue light ever! Any onlookers would have heard the M’s squealing with delight after looking at the back of our cameras…now it’s your turn!(Oh and stay tuned for their glamorous wedding at The Dorrance! Coming soon…)
