We’re celebrating Pride by featuring on the blog the very first wedding we photographed with two grooms. We met Trey when we photographed his cousin Colleen’s wedding, which he officiated. During the reception, we found out he was engaged to Ian, and in between snaps, we kept talking about how much we wanted to photograph their wedding because their chemistry was so sweet and their energy was something we hoped to capture. A week later, we got an email from them! Yay!

Trey and Ian’s wedding took place on Brecknock Hall in Greenport, New York, and when we got there, we totally felt like we arrived. Photographing a fabulous couple at a wedding almost in The Hamptons? Come on!

Their wedding was spectacular and was featured on The Knot. Is it any wonder why? Look at those details! They also used some of the same vendors Colleen used for her wedding. Whitney Events in New York was their wedding planner and their flowers were by Diane Gaudett Custom Floral Design in Connecticut. It was so great to see these incredible professionals again and get the band back together!

We still keep in touch with Trey and Ian (Trey’s Real Housewives memes are day-makers) and are holding tight to the promise we made to each other on their wedding day — to go dancing together in New York City! Can’t wait!

Hey, remember that time Staten Island came to Castle Hill Inn in Newport?  No?  Well we sure do!  And let me tell you…  Newport will never be the same!  Jacqueline and Patrick met working together as high school teachers in New York.  The high school that they work at is known as “the Castle on the Hill”.  I think you can see where I’m going with this!  Jacqueline envisioned a romantic fairytale on the water for her wedding day.  With the help of greenlion designs and Exquisite Events her vision became a reality.  Candle light, chandeliers, and lace draped on the top of the tent with greens, gold and blush pink accents on long tuscan tables brought the dream to life.  While the decor was soft and light the celebration was wild!  C4 Event Group brought the lights and music.  Jacqueline and Patrick love to dance and that is what they did!  It was so much fun for us to spend the day with these two.  With their sweet, down to earth personalities it is so hard to not love these two.

Something people will always worry about for their wedding day is the weather.  It’s the one thing you have no control over.  Margeau and Ryan’s wedding day was the perfect example of the old New England saying “If you don’t like the weather wait a minute”.  While we were covering the getting ready fun at Gurney’s in Newport it was pouring rain outside.  There was no sign of it stopping.  When Margeau arrived for the ceremony she ran into the church with the help of lots of people with umbrellas.  Even after the ceremony when we were supposed to be starting the photos the rain was holding strong.  Then it stopped!  It just stopped!  We were able to do photos outside and inside of Trinity Church in Newport.  More importantly the cocktail hour at Belle Mer was outside as planned.  We were able to get all the photos every couple wants!  Yesterday we were telling a prospective client that we are good luck when it comes to weather.  In reality it isn’t luck.  We can just guarantee that you will have beautiful photos rain or shine…  But shine is always preferred.
