Whenever we have a wedding in Newport we wish for beautiful weather so we can take advantage of the many gorgeous sites that are Newport. However, when we have a wedding at The Chanler, we downright demand a gorgeous day! Thankfully this was the case for Ashlyn and Lane’s wedding day. Cloudy skies cleared in time for a beautiful first look followed by an emotional ceremony officiated by one of Lane’s brothers. Lane’s beautiful daughter was the prettiest little flower girl. So pretty, in fact, that there may be as many photos of her as there are of the lovely Ashlyn! After burning her hand with a curling iron while getting ready, Ashlyn still managed to carry her amazing bouquet from the talented Toni Chandler. Guests mingled in the tent decorated by Exquisite Events of Newport and enjoyed divine cupcakes by Sweet Indulgence after dinner. Lane kept all the guests (and us) laughing the entire night with his crazy antics that will not soon be forgotten. Did you know its possible to eat a cupcake in one bite?! The couple capped off the night with extra long sparklers along the lawn over looking the ocean.

What better way to follow up an engagement session at Fenway Park than with a wedding on St. Patrick’s Day? And that’s exactly what Meghan and Lucas did! It also happened to be Marisa’s oldest son’s birthday, but missing holidays and birthdays comes with the territory of being “weekend warriors”.  We had such a great time with Meagan and Lucas at their engagement session that we couldn’t wait for the wedding.  Not much could top having Fenway Park all to ourselves but we did it!  The wedding day was beautiful!  That doesn’t happen often in March.  Meagan dreamed of being able to go outside for pictures and that is exactly what we got to do.  Of course there were some unruly groomsmen (you know who you are), but we’ve yet to meet any that are well behaved so it’s ok.  We would wish Megan and Lucas ‘good luck’ on their marriage but we are pretty sure they already nailed that one down!  Since the luck of St Patrick is on their side we will end with an old Irish blessing…  “May the love and protection St Patrick can give be yours in abundance as long as you live”

It was one of those perfect March days at Oceancliff Resort and Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island.  The kind of day with blue skies hinting at the warm days to come and the brisk wind of the winter that has passed. Downtown Newport was bustling with tourists wishing for spring and Missy and Jamie were getting married!  Oceancliff proved to be the perfect backdrop for Missy & Jamie’s vintage hollywood inspired wedding.  As a young girl Missy and her sister were fascinated by their grandmother’s antique hatpin collection.  Knowing that she wouldn’t be able to travel to the wedding, Missy wanted to incorporate some of these hatpins into her bouquet and the wedding theme then blossomed. The reception area at Oceancliff was transformed from their usual set up.  Instead it was cut in half – one side a fine dining room and the other a dance floor and lounge area.  The room was littered with mercury glass, candles and gorgeous flower arrangements by Toni Chandler (who stayed all night making sure the hydrangeas kept drinking!).  From the first look to the last dance Missy and Jamie were a wonderful reminder of why we love photography.
