Everyone deserves a second chance at love. Alison and Chris found theirs in each other. They had met many years ago but were at different places in their lives. Sometimes you meet someone and you just have that feeling, you feel that unexplainable connection but life’s circumstances prevent you from being together. So you tuck thoughts of them away in the back of your mind and you move forward. Then one day he calls you out of the blue, not for an apartment rental, as Alison thought, but because Chris had never stopped thinking of her. Then they fell in love. We were moved by this love story, goosebumps in the studio when we met them. They were both so laid back about their wedding and expressed that the things most important to them about their day were each other, family & friends, and photography to capture it all. We’re pretty sure Alison didn’t even have a dress three weeks prior to the wedding! On the big day Alison and Chris were each so nervous, it really was sweet to see this couple who are so in love feeling these nerves. We did a pretty first look in the Omni Hotel downtown, formals downtown with Alison’s dad as chauffeur and then onto Cafe Nuovo for the ceremony and a reception. The ceremony was officiated by Ryan McGowan who is their trainer at Laid-Back Fitness. They explained to us how instrumental Ryan had been in getting them healthy and fit together. When you’re healthy you’re happy and they expressed their gratitude and love by asking him to marry them. Alison and Chris were intent on mingling and conversing with their guests so they decided to forgo a traditional reception and instead threw an amazing cocktail party. Heavy passed hors d’oeuvres and a raw bar satisfied all of the guests cravings, amazing tunes by Outcry RI added to the ambiance, and a fabulous cake by Sin Desserts was the perfect sweet ending. We are so happy that these two found each other again. Say love.

A late autumn wedding at Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, RI screams New England. Ashley and Dan were so excited to take full advantage of this beautiful location. Guests were invited into the barn for the ceremony where they were greeted with hot apple cider in mason jars to warm them up as they chose their seats. A close college friend officiated the touching ceremony. Family and friends then moved into one half a giant tent for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Fall decor including hay bails for seating, pumpkins and pashmina wraps for the ladies were all waiting inside. Delicious stations were set up by Russell Morin Fine Catering for dinner including pizza and noodles and they were packed throughout dinner! A beautiful long table seated the radiant Ashley and Dan along with their very large wedding party which included Dan’s father as the best man and his grandfather as one of the groomsmen. We love seeing these close family bonds! Pretty pink tablecloths showcased mason jars full of autumn’s most lovely blooms. Candlelight glowed from high candelabras on the head table. After dinner the dancing began back in the barn and didn’t stop until late into the night. Ashley and Dan had a beautiful start to the rest of their life together and we were so happy to be their to capture it all!

We have done lots of engagement sessions in many different places but we had never been to Philly! Stacey and Adam are planning a gorgeous wedding in Newport next year. As a native Rhode Islander, Stacey is excited to get married in her home state and to show the out of town guests the glory of summer in the Ocean State. The day we met Stacey and Adam was far from summer, it was downright cold. Luckily the City of Brotherly Love warmed us with it’s beautiful sights. Stacey and Adam were our tour guides and our chauffeurs. They took us around to some stellar locations including the Rocky Steps. Some people refer to this locale as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, not us. Marisa has a deep affection for The Italian Stallion and so we will refer to these steps as the Rocky Steps from here on out.
Throughout the late afternoon we hit three locations, all completely different and all with different lighting. We adore this kind of variety. And we adore Stacey and Adam. They gave us wonderful restaurant recommendations and we ate like queens that night (and the next morning)! We are looking forward to summer 2015 so we can spend even more time with this fabulous couple!!
