It is not uncommon for a bride to be described as a princess, but Allie is truly a princess. We say “is” because every single day Allie is a beautiful, sweet, kind, and loving person. On her wedding day she had a glow about her as if a spotlight was following her every move. She wanted this day to be extra special for everyone involved, not just her and Mike, who is her incredibly handsome Prince Charming. During our engagement session we learned that Allie and Mike met at a bar in Boston. We pictured the moment they laid eyes on each other and thought “Well we are the best looking people in this place. Let’s get married!” While it didn’t exactly go down like that their love bloomed over time culminating in their ceremony at the Salve Regina chapel followed by a reception at The Atlantic Beach Club in Newport, RI. Between the ceremony and reception we went over to the always picturesque Ochre Court for bridal party portraits. Once at the ABC we were blown away by Felicia’s Perfect Setting styling of the ballroom. The most gorgeous chairs and linens coupled with stunning florals by Toni Chandler transformed this huge space into an intimate ballroom worthy of a private reveal for the bride and groom. All day Allie was attentive to her guests, wedding party, her groom and her sweet mother, Marilyn. Allie and her mom have a priceless bond that crosses over from mother/daughter to friend and warms the heart to watch. At the end of the reception Allie and Mike took the microphone to extend their heartfelt love and gratitude to all of their guests. It was a moving speech and one that we will not soon forget. We would personally like to extend our heartfelt love and gratitude to Allie and Mike for choosing us to capture this precious day!

At first glance Rebekah and Justin are a beautiful, young couple in love. Which is absolutely true. But what you can’t see, not until you spend some time with them, is that they are incredibly fun and WILD! When we first arrived at Rebekah’s room before the ceremony we were greeted by life-sized cardboard photographs of the couple’s beloved dogs. Since they had to stay behind in Colorado, Rebekah’s mother had the standees made so they could be part of the ceremony. This let us know right off the bat that nobody was taking themselves too seriously. That’s not to say that this wedding at the Hyatt Regency in Newport wasn’t decked out. From Rebekah’s gorgeous Galina Signature gown, to the John Orton flowers, and even the whimsical socks that the groom and groomsmen had on, every detail was spot on. It was clear that Rebekah had an incredible wedding planner. Her mother, Liz.  Rebekah and Justin reside in Colorado so Liz orchestrated this amazing affair with style and grace and she was such a pleasure to work with. Now back to their wild side. We heard whispers that Justin’s side of the family pulls a prank at every family wedding so we couldn’t wait to find out what it was! Turns out they had tiny footballs made with the couple’s name on them and passed them out to all of the guests prior to the ceremony. The instructions were to throw them at Rebekah and Justin during the recessional. It went off without a hitch and we have the pictures to prove it! Once Rebekah let down her Rapunzel hair the party was on. At one point during the reception Rebekah was officially inducted as an “outlaw” in an elaborate skit that included camouflaged ties for the men and sashes for the women. We can only imagine a lifetime of love, fun, and of course pranks, for Rebekah and Justin. Congratulations!

There is no better place for a super fun couple to have their engagement session than at a carousel! Elizabeth and Alex chose the Crescent Park Carousel in East Providence, RI. The hand carved carousel was built in 1895 and was once part of Crescent Park Amusement Park. There is even a golden ring that you can catch if you’re fast enough. This ring was also used as a faux proposal prop in our session! Elizabeth wore her mother’s vintage sundress and brought along a sweet parasol and a hand painted save the date sign. Alex and Elizabeth are bubbling with personality, maybe it’s their theater background, maybe it’s because of Elizabeth’s dancing skills, or maybe it’s because they simply bring out the best in each other. Love has a way of doing that.
