What happens when you cross a glamorous make up artist with a rugged fisherman? Here’s what, you get New Hampshire perfection! The setting was Portsmouth, NH, a beloved, picturesque, Norman Rockwell-ish, perfect New England town. Portsmouth has a beautiful downtown made for strolling, window shopping, real shopping and eating (we always eat really well when we are in Portsmouth #jobperks). It’s also the perfect place to get married! Kristin and Brett were as laid back as could be. The day before, Kristin showed us her gorgeous Anthropologie wedding gown nonchalantly hanging in a church closet. You know, among choir robes and whatnot, no biggie! We walked all over town scouting locations for portraits, chatting about the wedding day and getting to know our fabulous bride. And we do mean FABULOUS. The wedding day was amazing. The ceremony took place at ST. John’s Episcopal Church. This church was originally built in 1732 but burned to the ground in a tragic fire in 1806 which also destroyed many buildings in this area known as “Strawbery Banke”. The present structure was built in 1807 and is listed in the Register of Historic Sites as the oldest Episcopal Church in New Hampshire. It was in the original church that George Washington worshipped in 1789. During the fire one of the two mahogany chairs that GW could have sat in was destroyed while one was saved. It is hoped that the one saved was the one George Washington sat in and Kristin was determined to sit in that very chair! After the ceremony we joined family on the church grounds for some formals and then the real fun began. We walked with the wedding party over to the town square for portraits. In lieu of flowers the ladies carried embellished, giant, round balloons. Can we talk about these ladies for a second?! They each bought their own dresses in the champagne color family. We had sequined, sexy, flirty, romanic styling going on. Kristin is a world travelled makeup artist who works with Making Faces Weddings, a renowned makeup service in Portsmouth whose team beautified Kristen’s lovely bridesmaids. Kristen did her own makeup obviously.  We enjoyed time in some amazing gardens and by the water where there were actual tall ships visiting. We can’t make this stuff up! Once we finished in the square we walked across the Memorial Bridge to Brett’s boat. This bridge spans the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Badger’s Island in Kittery, Maine. We all boarded the boat with Brett as the captain and made our way to the reception at Martingale Wharf . Guests were waiting on the dock to receive the bride, groom and wedding party while enjoying cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres. This was quite an entrance and a first for us M’s! Guests from all walks of life mingled, enjoyed boat tours around the harbor, dined and danced the night away. Celebrity makeup artists, fishermen, friends, family and children alike celebrated this beautiful couple. Late in the evening Kristin had a friend cut her dress to tea length and changed out of her Manolo Blahniks into another pair of killer heals. She will be donating her gown to a charity that provides prom dresses to girls who can’t afford one, once again, fab. Its was an absolute joy to capture this incredible day. See for yourself how amazing it was!

We could just gush all over this wedding. We could tell you how amazing Heather and Alex are, how loving their families are, how both M’s teared up during the ceremony because the beautiful love this couple shares is palpable. Watching fun loving Alex become so serious and emotional at the church would melt anyone’s heart.  We could go on and tell you how we’ve never laughed so hard at a wedding. Alex has two brothers and the relationship they share is enviable to anyone with children, notably someone with three boys (Marisa!). We could tell you that Regatta Place was beyond perfect… the weather, the gorgeous decor courtesy of Flowerthyme , the impossibly attractive guests, a dance floor that wouldn’t quit all night with World Premiere Band keeping the party going. Heather was a shining light of beauty.  With makeup by Aline Sarkis Beauty, hair by Jennifer Gilbert and the perfect dress Heather was truly a breathtaking bride.  Alex, who up until this past Valentines Day had shoulder length hair, was as dapper as Don Draper. We could go on and on but let’s let these images tell you the story of their day. If a picture is worth a thousand words then we’ve got about a million words for you. We love you Heather and Alex!!

Here’s to last minute planners! Jenn and Kevin only contacted us a couple of months ago to shoot their wedding coming up this October in Newport, RI. Surprisingly enough we were available for the day! It must have been meant to be. This couple lives in Boston and has made many memories there making it an obvious choice for the location of their big photo shoot!  We met them in the North End, one of our favorite spots for pictures in Beantown.  There were fun decorations draped over the streets in preparation for the upcoming Italian Festival that weekend.  Oh, how we wish we could have been there to eat some food!  Kevin came armed with a google map of different spots that meant a lot to them.  Yes, I said he had a map…  With photos!  This is one prepared groom!  Some spots that were highlighted were the restaurant where they had their first date and the street Kevin proposed to Jenn.  We had such a great time getting a tour of Jenn and Kevin’s Boston.  With the wedding coming up quick we know that Kevin is away right now on his Bachelor Weekend!!  He mentioned that the guys were going to make fun of him if the pictures were posted this weekend.  Well it looks like we made it just in time!!!  Take it easy on him, Fellas!
