What would you do if your venue closed a couple of months before your wedding?  Freak out?  Absolutely!  This is exactly what happened to Mary and Jessie. They had a perfect wedding planned at the Stone House in Little Compton.  Both of these ladies love Little Compton so it was the only place they dreamed of getting married. Unfortunately the people who live in Little Compton don’t feel the same about weddings in their town.  After a battle the Stone House was forced to stop having events immediately.  Let the freak out begin!  Thankfully the people at the Newport Experience helped Mary and Jessie find a new venue like the wedding pros they are.  Mary and Jessie felt all the emotions but in the end they decided that it didn’t matter if they got married in Little Compton or in a parking lot.  The most important thing was that they were in love and starting their lives together.  Even though the parking lot idea sounded pretty amazing Mary and Jessie had to settle on Belle Mer.  Not a bad plan B!  Belle Mer is one of the swankiest places to get married in Newport!  The fact that they had the date open is a miracle!  It was so nice to see so many of the wedding professionals we work with and love come together to make what could have been a stressful situation into a perfect day for these ladies!  Since the wedding we have had the honor of doing a maternity session with this couple as well as newborn photos!  Nothing makes us happier than being there for our clients as their families grow!

There is a good possibility that if these two New Yorkers didn’t choose to get married at Belle Mer in Newport we may have never met them. It was fate! Perfect timing is actually how they came together in the first place. Heather and Matt’s love story started from a chance meeting on a New York City corner where Matt ended up proposing years later.  How romantic is that?  The wedding itself had a feel of romantic elegance kind of like NYC.  Jardiniere Fine Flowers did an amazing job bringing this to life with gorgeous blush floral arrangements that popped perfectly against the black and white color scheme.  Bringing in that personal touch, the father of the bride had the chuppah made and delivered to Belle Mer.  It was then adorned with hanging crystals and pink orchids.  It was pretty magnificent against the ocean backdrop of Newport.  There were even sailboats!  It could not have been a more perfect setting!  Cheers to Heather and Matt!  Through the magic of social media I recently saw that these two are expecting their first baby!!!  We are so happy for you and your family!  xoxo

Beach engagement sessions are on the top of everyone’s list in Rhode Island!  We are the ocean state after all.  A lot of our couples like the ocean views of Newport, but this state has more beautiful waterfront scenes than we can photograph!  Narragansett is a favorite spot for beaches in RI.  Lucky for our couples Marisa used to live in Narragansett and knows all the secret spots for photos!  A misconception about beach sessions is that they have to be done in the summer.  Definitely not!  We met Risa and Marcus at this secret beach in the off season.  Who knew dead grass would photograph so beautifully?  We did, that’s who!  It really took a miracle to make this happen.  These two are so busy being crazy smart and getting every degree!  We are so happy we were all able to make the time because it really was such a pleasure getting to know them.  I can’t end this without giving a shout out to Risa’s dad for bringing thee coolest prop ever… this ’55 Chevy!!  Amazing!  So excited for the wedding coming up in March at Oceancliff!
