Cohasset, Massachusetts is a former fishing village tucked in along the rocky shores where greater Boston Harbor ends and Massachusetts Bay begins. Nestled among the shops on Main St. is the Red Lion Inn. This quickly became a favorite venue for us to shoot because of the beautiful landscaping, the incredible Lion’s Hall, attentive staff and close proximity to the beach. Stephanie and Tim had the most beautiful day and together with their sweet daughter they celebrated with family and friends into the night. Sean got the first look of his glowing bride in her strapless Maggie Sottero, lace gown on the mezzanine in the Lion’s Hall. The handsome couple shared some private moments before heading outside into the sunshine for portraits with their wedding party. As guests found their seats for the ceremony, Stephanie and Sean parted ways to prepare. Joined by their daughter, Stephanie and her father walked down the aisle arm in arm while she held a delicate paper flower bouquet.  The chandeliers and Edison lights had the room glowing, flower petals lined the isle, and guests were moved by the thoughtful, person vows. Cocktail hour on the mezzanine was followed by the newlyweds’ grand entrance down the staircase and their first dance. Instead of taking their seats, Sean had put together a surprise flash mob with the wedding party for Stephanie! It was a huge surprise for everyone! A lovely dinner was followed by dancing and lots of shenanigans in our photo booth. It was an absolutely beautiful day!

We knew when we met Sarah and Bryan that their wedding was going to be amazing. First off they were referred by a wonderful couple who had the good sense to hire Melissa to do their wedding years ago (Hi, Elayna and Jordan!!).  Second they brought a vintage bike and the hugest balloon ever to their engagement session! They are two super fun and quirky people, kind of like us! But nothing could have prepared us for the unbelievable styling of their October wedding at The Red Lion Inn in Cohasset, MA. First of all, Marisa wore a black and white chevron shirt which was a heavily used pattern throughout the decor. She matched the wedding! As the girls were getting ready we were given the invitation, save-the-date cards, jewelry, shoes & headpiece. Every single item was individual and thoughtfully chosen or designed. The bridesmaids each wore their own choice of coral dress & turquoise jewelry. Sarah has an amazing eye. She has never known a Pinterest Fail, trust us. Even the first look was totally original. Remember the giant balloon from the engagement shoot? Now there were so many! Sarah and Brian met along a covered bride (take that, rain!) holding a huge bunch of balloons in front of their faces. At the count of three they let the balloons go to reveal themselves! Totally Sarah’s idea, totally awesome. Right after the reveal they enjoyed a couple of pints together. After some formal photos it was time to get married! The ceremony was personal and heartwarming and funny and very them. The staff at the Red Lion Inn seamlessly flipped the room while the cocktail hour commenced on the mezzanine. Once the reception began guests were treated to a feast for the eyes! The tables were accented with crisscrossed black and white fabric runners, glittery table numbers, and little hand painted plastic animals that we probably took to many pictures of! Their wedding also had a theme of “Best Day Ever” which was proudly displayed in big wooden letters on the balcony. Black and white silent movies were projected on an exposed rock wall over by the bar where guests could find mason jars full of embellished paper straws. Everywhere we looked we saw something special made by Sarah! Even the favors were homemade. Months earlier they started the process of making limoncello. They bottled it up and made little tags and voila! Favors you can drink! From the adorable cake with a fabric bunting to the handcrafted paper pinwheels, this wedding was undeniably DIY all the way. We would like to wish Sarah and Bryan the Best Life Ever!!!

We knew that Abby and Andy’s wedding at the Red Lion Inn was going to be wonderful after the awesome engagement session we had together. We were very excited to meet them in the warm weather considering it was the middle of winter when we last met in Boston. The beaches of Cohasset, Ma were a far cry from the frozen frog pond in The Commons! As always, The Red Lion Inn was stunning and the staff was kind and attentive. Abby was breathtaking in a gorgeous gown by House of Wu and Andy was dressed to the nines in Tommy Hilfiger. These two fit together like a puzzle, both are incredibly smart, stylish and driven and it came through in the styling of the wedding. The rustic beauty of the inn complimented the pretty florals by Barry’s Flowers. Each table number was accompanied by a picture of the bride and groom at that particular age. This greatly impressed us because not only did their parents keep their photos organized throughout the years but the pictures were beautiful! We had such a gorgeous day that were were able to take advantage of every spot on the grounds of the inn, take formal photos on the beach, and get Abby and Andy to their cocktail hour in time to enjoy some sweet acoustic music and passed hors d’oeuvres. The photo booth was hoping all night and the couple even had their own hashtag for their guests Instagram photos. Here’s to #abbyandandy13!
